The American National Rugby League (AMNRL) is the governing body for the development of the sport of Rugby League in the United States, as sanctioned by the Rugby League International Federation (RLIF). In existence since 1998, the AMNRL is the major Rugby League competition in the United States.

Led by president, David Niu, the AMNRL has just completed an active season of international rugby league with the USA Tomahawks facing Canada in the Colonial Cup then Jamaica and Canada in the inaugural Atlantic Cup. The announcement that the USA were in line for a world cup qualifying game – to be played in Philadelphia was a big boost to the sport and signalled a step-change in the development activity, with the AMNRL announcing plans to expand the game into the western states.

Now,the AMNRL is gearing-up for its fourteen competitive season, which kicks off in July and culminates in the National Championship game at the end of August.

Although impacted by the loss of seven teams to a rival competition (the USA Rugby League – USARL) the AMNRL retains a strong foundation of solid clubs, with three of the five teams having been champions at least once in the competitions 13-seasons. The Chicago Stockyarders also indicated their intention to align with the AMNRL, although whether they can establish a strong enough base to compete this season remains to be seen.

Although no official announcement has yet been made we anticipate the line-up for the coming season being
