In a major coup the USA Tomahawks have announced that former Bradford Bulls and current Penrith Panthers head coach, Matthew Elliot will take over as their head coach from October 2011.

Remaining three high performance assemblies will take place this weekend in preparation for next week’s squad selection.

  • Friday, March 4 at 8pm at Pier 40 in New York City Saturday,
  • March 5 at 10am in Philadelphia, PA Saturday,
  • March 5 at 4pm in Maui, HA

The Super League winning coach also took the Tomahawks’ reins during their 2008 Word Cup qualifying campaign and he will be hoping to steer the USA to their first ever finals appearance in 2013

David Niu and an experienced team of coaches, including former Leeds and Sheffield Super League player Marcus Vassilakopoulos, will lead the Tomahawks preparations for the Donnybrook Cup clash with Ireland on St. Patrick’s Day

By design or otherwise the announcement is further incentive for those wavering over their commitment to the AMNRL cause.
