Why is our press being prevented from reporting the proceedings of our elected representatives? As an electorate and citizens we have the right to know what is taking place in Parliament, yet the Guardian today reports:
The Guardian has been prevented from reporting parliamentary proceedings on legal grounds which appear to call into question privileges guaranteeing free speech established under the 1688 Bill of Rights.
I have asked my MP (Lindsay Hoyle) for further information on this issue and for his stance on the matter, which attacks our democracy. I will report the response here in the blog.
Do not let this government — or any government — erode out democratic rights.
