Lion Watch Report: 2009-08-20 (Thursday)

The Lions are on the road this week, with a trip to Cleveland to take on the Browns for Game 2 of their 2009 preseason schedule.

With no TV coverage of NFL preseason games in the UK (either on SKY Sports or ESPN America) I’ve taken out an NFL Audio Field Pass Pass subscription. Even though I don’t expect to see the Lions on Sky much during the regular season I couldn’t run to the extra cash for a video pass; should be able to catch the highlights on NFL Total Access, I hope though.

Anyway even though the 730pm EST start on Saturday means half past midnight Sunday here I’m determined to catch as much of the game as I can on the radio.
No idea yet what station handles the Lions radio broadcasts, is it the Ticket (WXYT or something?). I’ll have to look it up later.

One thing I love at the moment is that I can stream radio via my mobile phone and plug it into the car stereo. I’m listening to WEEI (Boston) on the way home from work these days, catching-up on the Red Sox, but will switch to following the Lions progress from now on I suppose.
Got to say I can’t wait to see Matt Stafford in a Lions game. He put together some awesome passes at Georgia. Reminded me a little of a young Brett Favre. Hope he turns out to be as good for the Lions as Brett was for Green Bay.
